Process
With PRP for hair, we use a local anaesthetic to help minimise the pain of the treatment for all other treatments, a topical anaesthetic is applied. Depending on how many areas will be treated, we start with a topical anaesthetic.
Depending on how many areas you want to get treated the doctor will draw 30 to 120mls of blood. We draw this much blood to increase the number of platelets collected and insure the best possible results. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge for around 8-10 minutes to separate the blood plasma and platelets from the blood. The collected plasma is then mixed with a local anaesthetic for our patients’ comfort and injected into the areas being treated.
The treatment is a minimally invasive procedure that usually takes between 45-60 minutes depending on the treatment area.
